New punch needle designs!

Hi friends!

The amazing winter issue of Punch Needle and Primitive Stitcher magazine will be available November 1st and we are lucky enough to have a sweet punch needle stocking ornie pattern included. So many amazing designers have contributed to this issue! Please look for a copy, or better yet- subscribe and enjoy the magazine all year.
I'll post a sneaky-peek closer to the release, so check back near the end of October.

Wool bundles

I've made piles of beautiful wool bundles this week!
There are limited numbers of each bundle shown and orders will be filled as soon as payment is received. The bundles have 8 pieces of hand dyed felted wool measuring approximately 9"X11" each. Perfect for adding diverse colors to your stash! Cost per bundle is $26.

Hi all!

We are asked daily if we have a website for ordering patterns and kits. Unfortunately, at this time we do not.

We love seeing our customers face to face at quilt shows and we find that photography fails to convey wool colors accurately enough to rely on a website.

That being said, we are always happy to ship kits and patterns you have seen in magazines or recent blog posts! We also continue to custom dye wool to match or complete projects (one yard, minimum, per color).

Who loves Fall? We sure do!

August in Texas has been beautiful this year!! We've been lucky enough to have cooler temperatures and rain. We wander around marveling at the green grass (usually brown and crunchy) and wonder if fall really is right around the corner.
The lovely weather has certainly put us in the mood to work on new fall and holiday designs! A few of our new goodies can be found in the autumn issues of Rug Hooking magazine and QuiltMania's Simply Vintage magazine. Grab your copies, a cuppa, and enjoy!

How cool are our customers????

Irma Sefers made an excellent variation of our Haunted Tail from the current issue of Primitive Quilts & Projects magazine!! She has added her own house number to the pattern and made a flat version rather than a stuffed cat. Very creative!! I was so pleased to see her finished project.

Wooo.... Summer.

Parents: Are ya ready for the school year to begin?? You know what I mean, right? Please tell me I'm not alone!

Keeping this boy busy all summer is wearing me out. When he started kindergarten last year I was beyond excited to have 6 uninterrupted hours, 5 days a week to work. I missed him, of course, but we were all gettin' stuff done! It was amazing and then wham! Summer break. In Texas, school is out in May and the break lasts through August. That's a long, long time to keep a six-year-old busy, active, learning, and not glued to the television or iPad. We were doing well for the first month, before it was "center of the earth" hot. It was 105° yesterday. Now, he's a little bored. We'll make it, obviously, but the school year will be most welcome!

I have had time to stitch up a few new goodies to show you.....

An addition to our show schedule!

We will be participating in The Sizzlin' Summer Shop Hop at The Cotton Cupboard in North Lakeway, Texas on August 25 & 26, 2016. Make plans now to grab a few friends and come see us. The shops have lots of fun planned and loads of new goodies to purchase! What a fun day or weekend in and around the Austin area!

Many of you know the home of Punkin Patch Craft Designs is north Texas.
And you may have seen the news about police officers being ambushed by snipers last night.
In north Texas.

Our hearts are so heavy this morning. Heavy for our community and for all of law enforcement.
Whatever your political opinions and affiliations, every person "matters", families lost members who are important to them, and snipers shooting people is not a "protest" of any kind.

Madness.

Let's do what we can to encourage humanity and sanity today, ok?

It's hot, so I'm already wishing for Autumn!

I always look forward to summer....gardening, travel, vacations, swimming, relaxed schedules. And then it gets hot. Texas hot. 97° to 100° every day starting mid-June and stretching into September and beyond. I regret my wishful desire for summer to "hurry up and get here already" and start looking forward to Fall.
How is summer in your neck of the woods? Go ahead, make me jealous!

While I'm currently longing for Autumn, folks in the magazine world have been planning for it a long time already. The Autumn issue of Primitive Quilts & Projects will soon hit retailers and we have a perfectly prim Hallowe'en project on those pages. Hopefully you subscribe (worth every penny, y'all) but if you don't, we'll have copies for sale around July 15th along with kits for our delightfully spooky kitty project. I believe images of each project featured are currently on the website www.primitivequiltsandprojects.com.

Where does the time go???

I have been a terrible blogger! The holidays, while lovely, put me off my schedule and I've had a hard time getting back to work. Let's start now, ok? After all, it's only January.....
